Tess Ortbals (Producer) began her love affair with the arts at the age of 10 as a child actress. From commercials to the stage, all aspects of performance captivated her. She excelled in school with numerous leadership positions along with several distinguished awards in theater, history, and writing. Excited not only to participate in both academic and performance-based showcases and competitions, she also organized them. Tess focused her studies in ancient storytelling and mythology, obtaining her BA at UC Berkeley where she graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Anthropology, emphasis in Archaeology. In 2004 she studied underwater excavation in Sicily and served as Staff Photographer on the Tel Dor Archaeological Expedition in Israel. Her specialization was in Near Eastern marine cultures of the Early to Late Bronze Age. Tess has produced award winning short films, music videos, and spec commercials. She was a recipient of the EP Producing Scholarship, the Rodolfo Montes Memorial Scholarship, the National Hispanic Foundation Scholarship, and the Mabel Wilson Richards Scholarship for young women in the arts. She has also received the Lifetime Movie Network Student Filmmakers Award, and she has been the co-chair of the Women of Cinematic Arts. A Co-founder of Mythmakers, a Production Company, Tess aims to develop and produce quality action-adventure family fare films. Tess has an MFA degree from USC's world-renowned School of Cinematic Arts with an emphasis in Producing Feature Films. She most recently produced PUG ATTACK, a Top 5 Finalist commercial spot in the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl Competition. |

JR Burningham is an award winning filmmaker from the suburbs of Salt Lake City, Utah. Drawn to filmmaking from childhood, he was especially enamored with technology and the trickery of special fx. He earned bachelors degrees in Computer Engineering & Computer Science in his quest to master the ever-changing landscape of illusion through science. JR received his MFA in Film Production from USC's School of Cinematic Arts. His film The Lost Journal of Vice Marceaux, one of a select few short films financed by USC, has screened at more than 17 film festivals worldwide and was the recipient of an Honorable Mention at the Student Emmy's for best score as well as 2 Best Short Film Awards. JR also won the Film & Fiction Scholarship for Screenwriting from the Institute for Human Studies. JR hopes to revive classical tales full of new worlds, fantastic adventure, and history while holding to higher moral principles. Above all he hopes to instill the belief that we can all aspire to be greater than we are. Most recently he Directed PUG ATTACK, a 30 second commercial that is currently a Top 5 Finalist in the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl competition. |
